The THX 1200C-4 Front Left Center Right Subwoofer Amplifier is designed for advanced home cinema systems, where a THX setup is combined with stereo playback.
In this type of configuration, the front left and right channels are typically large, full-range speakers capable of handling the complete audio spectrum. The center channel plays a critical role in home cinema, requiring exceptional speech clarity for dialogue reproduction. The fourth channel is dedicated to driving a passive subwoofer and can deliver up to 1200 W of maximum power into a 4-ohm load. Proper signal configuration at the processor stage is essential to achieve optimal performance.
For stereo listening, the amplifier allows for fully independent channel operation through appropriate channel configuration, providing flexibility for high-quality audio playback.
The amplification system delivers up to 600 W of clean power per channel into both 4-ohm (current-limited) and 8-ohm (rail-voltage-limited) loads. The unit also supports 12 V trigger control and features a low standby (sleep) power consumption of just 0.5 W.
